Biography

Kristen Hartman grew up in Norman, Oklahoma.  She attended Austin College in Sherman, Texas where she received a Bachelor of Arts in 2000.  After college, she worked in the legal field for two years prior to attending Oklahoma City University School of Law and was licensed to practice law in 2006.  Ms. Hartman is admitted to practice law in Oklahoma state courts as the Western District of Oklahoma.

Ms. Hartman’s primary areas of practice are family law and criminal law.  She is an active member of the Family Law Section and Oklahoma County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association.

Ms. Hartman strives to provide excellent representation for her clients because she has a deep passion about our fundamental rights of freedom and fairness, but also because she is a true advocate for others.  Through her representation she wants clients to understand that the system is not perfect, families are complicated and that bad things happen to good people.  Everyone deserves a second chance and the opportunity to tell his or her story.  Ms. Hartman understands that family is the most important thing in the world to most people, so the work she does in family and criminal law is always keenly needed and has a major impact on the lives of her clients.  She wants to make a meaningful difference with her work in the lives of her clients.  Ms. Hartman endeavors to provide her clients with transparency, truth, and trust.  Clients always need to understand the full scope of their situation and all available options, including the pros and cons of each.  Fully informed decision-making is extremely important in such impactful matters as criminal and family law cases.

Ms. Hartman’s goal is for every client to know she cares, because that’s what matters.  You can’t always make or change the law, and you can’t always convince the judge, but her clients know that no one will try harder than Ms. Hartman to protect their rights.
